Woo Hoo! R2D2!
Today we went to Education Day for Maker Faire. We had so much fun! Our tour was timed so we didnt get to see everything we wanted to see! Our plan is to return on Sunday when its open to the public!
We had lunch in the parking lot, then met up with some other homeschoolers from all over the bay! We made some new friends and had a great tour!

A Week of Field Trips
Posted by Stacey Becker on 09/05/2012 at 14:44
Next week, we will be running around the bay area!
On Monday, Mason has an hour long orthodontist appointment. Not really a field trip...but still has to be done! We are also having a phone installed that day. There is some strange interference around our house and it makes our cell phones go out from time to time (only when we are at home!) Strange...but we dont like to leave boys home when we arent sure about the service and they are getting old enough they dont always want to come with us. Our only option...an emergency phone!
Wednesday, we are meeting with a new homeschool group from Los Gatos...only to tag along with them for Education Day at Maker Faire We will be taking a tour of the faire and getting some behind the scenes information.
Thursday, we are meeting ANOTHER homeschool group from south bay to attend an Insect Fair. There will be 2 different classes and we will be doing all sorts of gross things with insects.
Friday, we will meet with out usual homeschool group for park day from noon to 5pm.
Saturday, we will attending an open house for the US Geological Survey. There will be scientist there to tell us everything we want to know about earthquakes and stuff!
Sunday, we are headed back to Maker Faire...with Dan this time! The faire will be open to the public this time so we will get to walk around and see all the cool stuff. The MAIN reason we are going , however, is to try to meet Adam Savage from Myth Busters They film right here in the Bay Area and he will be speaking on Sunday!
WHEW! After that we will take the following Monday off before meeting friends at the beach the NEXT Tuesday. I could go on and on, but it may be easier to just post our calendar next time! ha

Today was the day it began! THE BIG DIG!

Jackson: This dirt smell reminds me of Grandma's house.

Digging the border took the longest!

Now its time for the big gun! THE PICK AXE! Jackson: I remember when I couldnt even lift this thing! I was so cute back then! lol

Two hours of hard labor and Jackson has his garden!

Mason helped the entire time... he was the clean up crew. He took the grass and filled in some holes in the yard and scooped the rest into the recycle can.
I was the project manager.
